   DC Skater Featured in Sports Magazine

Our very own Susana won national fame when she was featured in the January/February issue of Her Sports Magazine.





Every issue, Her Sports Magazine has a special section which profiles and features women athletes. Susana's writeup included a mention of skating in DC, New York, and wanting to do the A2A.

The writeup did mention that Susana likes to fuel up for a skate with latte and muffins. My best memory of Susana in 2005 was from the skate to Annapolis. During that skate, Susana did indeed fuel up with latte and muffins. In fact, she fueled up while skating and while skating so quickly that she often left the rest of the group behind.

The photo that was published was one that I took. Her Sports Magazine very kindly credited SkateBlog.com as the source. One thing that I did notice was that it was originally a photo of both Susana and me together, and somehow I got cropped out. But looking through the magazine, I noticed that there wasn't a single male published anywhere -- not even in the ads -- which I suppose make sense given the name of the magazine. It's not "Their Sports" it's "Her Sports". So I suppose it makes sense that I got cropped out.

Plus, I've got all the fame I can handle from my blog.
